Renewable Choice Energy to Receive Outstanding Case Study Award from SPLC

Firm to be recognized with award on May 25th at national conference in Washington, D.C.

BOULDER, CO (5/19/16)—Renewable Choice Energy announced today that the company has received an Outstanding Case Study award from the Sustainable Purchasing Leadership Council (SPLC) in conjunction with the SPLC’s upcoming national conference to be held in Washington D.C. May 24-26.

The case study, entitled Turning the Ship: How One Supplier’s Agility Led to Its Market Evolution, chronicles Renewable Choice’s shift to broaden its product and service offerings, which has resulted in the company becoming one of the foremost global experts on renewable energy purchasing in the commercial, industrial, and MUSH markets.

“It is an honor for us to be recognized by the Sustainable Purchasing Leadership Council in this way,” said Amy Haddon, VP of Communications and Engagement for Renewable Choice Energy.  “Moreover, this award is demonstrable evidence of the power of the work we are doing with our corporate partners, who have collectively added more than 1,000 MW of new wind and solar power to the national grid.”

Renewable Choice began its rise as a leading green power supplier in 2006, when it helped Whole Foods Market become 100% wind powered.  At the time, the historic deal was the largest corporate purchase of renewable energy.  The company has since worked with thousands of global companies to help achieve their economic and environmental goals and began advising clients on long-term renewable energy contracting in 2011.  The company was recognized by the EPA as the Green Power Supplier of the Year in 2012, 2014, and 2015, and is CDP’s exclusive North American offsite clean energy partner.

Renewable Choice is also a featured speaker at the SPLC event, where VP of Strategic Renewables John Powers will give a talk entitled “Renewable Energy Purchasing: How Long-Term PPAs Create Opportunities for Internal Collaboration.”  John will be joined onstage by Joseph Pendergast from Philips Corporation.  For more information on SPLC, or to register for the conference, visit sustainablepurchasing.org.
